Another way to move

Add life to your years.

Forge is a new workout programme built to help you stay strong, capable and confident in your body, so you can keep doing the things that matter to you.

Whatever matters to you

Training for life outside the gym…

  • For carrying your bags up the stairs.
  • For another season on the slopes.
  • For keeping up on the tennis court.
  • For picking up your grandchildren.
  • For travelling wherever you want to go.
  • For signing up to a running race with your family.
  • For feeling like yourself.

Our approach

Designed around you.

We built a safe and progressive exercise programme, designed around you.

  • Safe by design

Our programme is designed by a physiotherapist. Before starting anything, you will go through an assessment so we can understand your health, fitness level, injuries and everyday niggles. Whatever your starting point, we'll help you start safely and progress with confidence.

  • Science-backed

We bring together the types of exercise that matter most for lifelong health, based on the latest evidence. Not over optimised, not too gentle, just the right dose.

  • With your community

We believe movement should be practised together. You get expert coaching and a programme tailored to your level, alongside people who make turning up something to look forward to.

How it works

You don't need to be fit to start.

You just need to start.

  1. 1-to-1 assessment

We'll talk through your health, goals, assess how you currently move, and any pain or injuries. You'll leave with a personalised report and a clear recommendation for where to start.

  2. 1 month trial

If you're a beginner, you'll join a small group and learn the fundamental movements that form the foundation of Forge training. We'll help you build confidence, learn good technique and see progress.

If you're more advanced, you'll have a month to try the different Forge classes and decide if it is right for you.

  3. Ongoing group training

After your first 4 weeks, we'll recommend the membership and classes best suited to your level, health and goals.

What we assess

Six areas. One plan for you.

Your 1-to-1 assessment looks at six areas of how you move. Your coach uses them to find where you start and how you progress.

  • Balance

How steady you are on your feet.

    Trained in Control

  • Mobility

    How freely your joints move.

    Trained in Control

  • Stability

    The control around your joints.

    Trained in Control

  • Strength

The muscle you use in everyday life.

    Trained in Lift

  • Bones

    Your bone health.

    Trained in Lift

  • Cardio

    Your heart, lungs and stamina.

    Trained in Pulse

The classes

Start with the basics. Then train for life.

Beginners start with Foundation. Then there are three types of class, and we recommend the mix that suits you.

  • Where you start

    Foundation

Learn the fundamental movements in a small group, at your pace, before the regular classes.

  • Balance and mobility

    Control

Balance, joint mobility and the deep muscles that keep you stable, to help protect your joints.

  • Strength

    Lift

Strength for the movements of everyday life: squats, lunges, pushes, pulls and hinges. It also supports your bones.

  • Cardio

    Pulse

Steady cardio for your heart, lungs and stamina.

Expertise you can trust

The people behind the programme.

Forge brings together expertise across movement, physiotherapy and medicine to create a programme that's safe, effective and built for the long term.

What our members say

In their words.

    Edith
  • “I had chronic pain in my legs. It completely disappeared after Forge training.”
    Ghandi
  • “Forge taught me to think of movement as a skill I can keep improving. The classes are genuinely fun and engaging, thanks to the amazing team.”
    John
  • “I have severe osteoporosis, it is really scary. Forge gives me the peace of mind that I'm doing the best training to avoid falls and strengthen my bones.”
